Call to the Press: 3 years of the Military Coup in Egypt

On the 3rd anniversary of the military coup d'état staged by General Sisi against Egypt's first democratically elected president we are inviting you to a press conference in front of the Egyptian Embassy in Ottawa, Canada.

What: Press conference
When: 2PM, Sunday July 3rd, 2016
Where: In front of the Egyptian Embassy
454 Laurier Ave E, Ottawa, ON K1N 6R3

For the last 3 years Egypt has been ruled by a dictatorship hiding behind an unconvincing veil of democracy. It is suffering from a financial meltdown, a total disregard to human rights and a politicized judicial system.

The speakers will speak about the continued resistance to the coup, inside and out of Egypt and expose its crimes and violations focusing on the role Canada can play to defend democracy and justice in Egypt.

Present in the Press conference

Alex Neve, Secretary General of Amnesty International Canada
Ahmed Abdelkader, Vice-president of the Egyptian Canadian Coalition for Democracy (ECCD)
Mohamed Sherif Kamel, Secretary General of the Egyptian Revolutionary Council (ERC)
